Gassed Girls
Two teenage girls have been charged after a wild driving spree that ended when a stolen truck hit a police vehicle in Regina.
A 14-year-old has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and dangerous driving, while a 16-year-old faces charges of possession of stolen property, theft and dangerous driving.
Police said two traffic officers spotted a large pickup truck driving erratically in the north-central area of Regina early on Wednesday.
The truck spun around, facing the police sport utility vehicle about 10 metres away. At that point, the 16-year-old driver allegedly traded places with the 14-year-old and the truck was driven into the police car.
The SUV was damaged extensively but nobody was hurt.
The two girls made their first appearance in a Regina courtroom on Wednesday.
The 14-year-old was also charged with assault with a weapon, the truck, as well as theft, possession of stolen property, obstruction and having a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08.
