Pregnant Woman killed in Accident on HWY-105
A pregnant Outaouais woman was killed instantly this afternoon after she exited a truck that lost control on a highway north of Gatineau.
MRC des Collines police closed down a portion of Hwy. 105 in the Alcove area after the collision, which happened around 2 p.m.
Const. Martin Fournel said a pickup truck was travelling south on the highway when it lost control and crashed into the ditch. The 38-year-old female driver opened the door, got out and was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Malibu. She died at the scene.
“She opened the door and it just happened,” Fournel said.
