Changes to Bus Routes in the Gatineau
In the spring of 2005, the STO held two public consultation sessions concerning the bus services offered in the Gatineau and Buckingham Masson-Angers sectors.
The STO considered all the comments that had been made as it developed the changes below.
The steps are:
Presentation of the revised proposals to the city councillors in the sectors and neighbourhoods concerned: January 20, 2006.
Adoption of the final changes by the Board of Directors: February 22, 2006
Effective date of new services: June 26, 2006
The exact schedules for the routes concerned by these changes will be issued in the summer.
All the new information will be available in the 2006 summer edition of the User's Guide.

While some are minor and others slightly more significant, the improvements being suggested also take the evolving transportation habits of residents into account.

Objectives of the changes to service:
- Improve service in the major trip generators;
- Make travel easier within the Gatineau sector and to the other sectors in the City of Gatineau;
- Provide service to new residential sectors;
- Increase service in north-south corridors;
- Make greater use of the reserved lanes in the Gréber/Fournier corridor;
- Shorten travel time for riders;
- Improve service to the park-and-ride facilities in the Gatineau sector;
- Ensure easy integration with the Rapibus system.
